The deans of four faculties at the Lithuanian University of Health Sciences (Medicine, Public Health, Pharmacology, Nursing) are currently visiting the College of Medicine, Dentistry and Nursing at the University of Dundee. The Lithuanian university was formed in 1998 on the basis of the Kaunas Medical Institute, which was created in 1950. To date it has five faculties and is closely connected with hospitals and clinical sites in Kaunas, Lithuania’s second largest city. The university enjoys an excellent reputation internationally, and research collaborations extend beyond Europe to for example, the United States and Canada. The university has been a partner in several successful European funding bids. SDHI has been involved in the discussions about future collaborations between Lithuania and Scotland.
