Successful project dissemination event on domestic abuse, disability and maternity care access

The interdisciplinary research team, consisting of SDHI researchers and colleagues from the Universities of Manchester and Edinburgh as well as the NHS Fife met with funders (Wellbeing of Women), representatives of NGOs, health professionals and service users to discuss findings from a recent project involving literature reviews, individual interviews and focus groups. The study highlighted the need to address knowledge and psychosocial barriers to providing equitable maternity care services to disabled women who experience emotional, physical, sexual or financial forms of domestic abuse. A video of the presentations is now available here.
