As a new term is about to start, SDHI is preparing new exciting events for this autumn and winter, After a couple of years, we will be offering a postgraduate/postdoctoral retreat again in Kindrogan. This highly popular event provides learning and information opportunities in a relaxed context. Students and more senior academics from a variety of disciplines share their experience and knowledge. If you are interested in joining, it’s not late to register.

Dr Roger Dunston, Associate Professor and Director of the International Research Centre for Health Communication at the University of Technology in Sydney will pay a visit to SDHI and the University of Dundee in September and he has agreed to give a presentation, which we will announce shortly. A number of further events, webinars and seminars will also be finalised in September and the dates circulated. A day of public engagement in the Overgate shopping centre in Dundee is already firmly in our diary and for the third consecutive year, SDHI has received financial support from the ESRC to host this event. And we will introduce new SDHI members soon.

SDHI is gearing up for the anniversary event on the 3 December in The Gateway, St Andrews and will also present its new strategic plan shortly. So many things to be excited about. If you haven’t yet, pay us a visit, drop us a tweet or an email or give us a call. We are here to stimulate, facilitate and support interdisciplinary research in the area of health and wellbeing with social relevance in the context of a supportive environment.
